Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day, everybody! Now is the time when TV shows roll out their V-Day-centric episodes and we watch our favorite characters attempt to find or keep love.
Fortunately, New Girl brought on True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten as a guest star for their Valentine’s Day episode next Tuesday, so it’ll be that much hotter to watch Jess (Zooey Deschanel) attempt to hook up with him. Check out our exclusive look at next week’s New Girl, and find out why Max Greenfield has a bone to pick with True Blood…
“Here is my ultimate problem with True Blood,” Greenfield says. “They’re setting a bar for other men that’s just too hard to attain. You see the bodies on these guys? We’re just here on Fox, with so-so bodies. But we’re trying really hard.”
We’re not surprised that Kwanten caused a complex when he waltzed on the set of New Girl. Now if only his character, Oliver, were as interesting. Jess wants to have a connection with him to help get past the fact that she’s single on Valentine’s Day for the first time in a long time, but it just ain’t happening.
Check out a sneak peek at “Valentine’s Day,” featuring a very attractive Kwanten.
Getting new season spoilers from the cast of True Blood is harder than dislodging a bull’s horn from your sternum. Right Maryann???
And while Joe Manganiello remained tight lipped during my interview with him back in November, his co-star Ryan Kwanten recently dropped some hints about the tone season five will strike.
“If you figured we were controversial already, this is going to blow it off the hinges,” he told Sydney’s Daily Telegraph. “It’s going to touch on a lot of fiery topics.”
And while that spoiler is skimpier than Sookie’s skirts, with the cast headed back to work on New Year’s Day, you can be sure this is just the start of the season five trickles.
True Blood is expected to return to HBO in June 2012.
Who said glasses can’t be sexy?
Ryan Kwanten definitely proved that point at the G-Star Rodeo Drive Store Opening in Beverly Hills, CA, on Tuesday, where the True Blood hunk rocked a sexy pair of retro black frames.
He’s just the latest Hollywood star to add a bit of style to their less-than-perfect vision. Suffice to say, he passes our eye exam with flying colors.
Check out Ryan’s glasses, plus more celebs who wear glasses, in our gallery now.
The adorkable girls get all the hot guys.
We can happily and exclusively reveal that True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten will guest star in the Valentine’s Day episode of New Girl. Will it be love at first sight for Jess?
Kind of.
Jess (Zooey Deschanel) will be celebrating her first Valentine’s Day in six years as a single girl, and what better way to do that than with a meaningless one-night stand? So she drags Schmidt (Max Greenfield) out to a bar to be her wingman, and that is when she meets Oliver (Kwanten). Jess quickly finds out that she has nothing in common with him, which is really the last thing you should care about when it comes to someone who looks like that.
Honestly, if Oliver is shirtless and speaks with Kwanten’s Australian accent, does Jess really need to have anything in common with him? We think not.
New Girl’s Valentine’s Day episode will air in February 2012.
What do you think of Kwanten’s guest gig on New Girl? Perfect match for Jess or a disaster in the making?
Ryan attended 19th Annual Young Hollywood Party on October 13, 2011. The party was put on by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as a benefit to help raise money to support communities in schools of Los Angeles West (CISLAW).
The Mission:
The missions of Communities in Schools (CIS) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Ryan will grace the cover of Men’s Health magazine’s November issue in the UK. The True Blood actor will reveal the secrets behind his workout regime! Scans from the magazine have been added into the gallery. Take a look below.

Ryan Kwanten is best known as Jason Stackhouse in HBO’s True Blood, but he also takes on theatrical roles when the series isn’t shooting. One of his latest, Griff the Invisible, is scheduled to make its Blu-ray debut on November 15.
In Griff the Invisible, Kwanten plays an office worker who makes up for his mundane days by playing the part of a superhero at night. His secret identity is at risk when he meets Melody (Maeve Dermody), a girl whose dreams of something greater rival his own.
According to the pre-order listing at Amazon.com, publisher Vivendi is loading Griff the Invisible on Blu-ray with a commentary track, 4 to 6 featurettes, video production diaries, deleted scenes, and a Shadow Bureau music video. (Source)
It’s been a few weeks since the action packed season 4 finale of True Blood. Now that we’ve had time to digest lets take a look back at some of the best and worst moments of season.
Best: Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll)
Two of the sexiest characters on the series finally got it on. They may end up as the most balanced pair on the show. Jason seems to be shallow and sex crazed on the outside but has an inner soft side; whereas Jessica seems to be innocent and sweet but has an inner sex goddess. I see them going places.

The season finale of True Blood, have have just aired but we do not have to wait long before hearing about what’s in store for fans of the show in Season 5! Co-executive producer Raelle Tucker had a chat with EW.com and spilled some beans … Read on for the details, but beware of a few spoilers if you’re not done with Season 4.
Season 5 will introduce fresh meat and showcase some familiar faces. “There will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year,” says Tucker. “That will be a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.”
We will also once again visit the fairy world touched upon at the beginning of Season 4. Continues Tucker, “Season 5 will explore more fairies, new fairies, fairies in a way you haven’t really seen fairies. We will all, as well as Sookie, come to understand fairies more than in previous seasons.”
Scott Foley’s Patrick, whom we met in the finale, will bring trouble to Terry (Todd Lowe) and Arlene (Carrie Preston). Tucker warns, “His arc has to do with Terry’s past coming back to haunt Bon Temps and Arlene and their life they’re trying to set up together.”
The identity of the wolf seen growling at Sam (Sam Trammell) in the final moments will be revealed — and, according to Tucker, is “someone you have never met before.” Tucker, who wrote the season finale, won’t confirm, though, if said werewolf is Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) father, Jackson, who is featured in Book 5 of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels.
The unearthed King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare), will be back. “Russell is not dead,” says Tucker. “It’s safe to assume the king of Mississippi is not gone for good.” Also look for former Fellowship of the Sun leader — and now vampire — Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian). Teases Tucker, “I will say that Steve’s reason for returning to Jason (Ryan Kwanten) is not at all what you expect.”
Then there’s Sookie, who blew off three supernatural hunks to be alone. “While there will always be romance in Sookie’s life, Sookie at the moment is choosing herself over all of them,” reveals Tucker. “I think that will continue to play into Season 5.” At least there’s the potential for a new bromance — or a Thelma & Louise-style fugitive friendship — between Eric and Bill (Stephen Moyer) now that they’ve killed Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck). Teases Tucker, “The consequences of their actions in the finale are going to chase them for a while next year.”
