Has True Blood star Ryan Kwanten been secretly hanging out with Brad Pitt? It sure seems like it, because the 36-year-old star pulled a Pitt and also debuted a new, clean-shaven look this week.
The star arrived at the Toronto Film Festival on Tuesday to promote his latest movie, The Right Kind of Wrong — but he ended up promoting a shaved head, shaved beard and mustache, too.
And gah! We still can’t decide how we feel about Kwanten’s new locks (or, rather, lack thereof). While we’re certainly going to miss the star’s signature shag, we also must admit: The man looks hot. Perhaps we will just have to leave it up to the ladies of Bon Temps to decide.
If you’ve always dreamed of a Marvel movie shot as if it was a contemporary of Godard’s Breathless, well… you’re in luck. Today’s winner in the unauthorized comic book short film lottery goes to True Blood star Ryan Kwanten and director Joe Lynch for their curious take on Spider-Man antagonist Eddie Brock, a.k.a. Venom. Take a look below, but as you might expect, the actual Venom appearance comes pretty late in the game:
His True Blood character, Jason Stackhouse, may still be looking for that perfect woman; but it looks like the hottie who plays him, Aussie star Ryan Kwanten, has found a hot new romance. Ryan was spotted at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this past weekend with a gorgeous, young brunette to whom he kept referring as “my girlfriend,” onlookers say.
“They stayed together at the same hotel,” an insider confirms. “They were together the whole weekend. I didn’t spot them apart once. They’re definitely a couple, and it looks serious.”
So serious, in fact, we still don’t have her name. But that’s no surprise considering Ryan’s always been super-secretive about who he’s dating.
We’re just glad our favorite non-bloodsucking hunk has found happiness!
Ever wanted a piece of Jason Stackhouse’s hair? Need a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift? You’re in luck, because True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten has donated his hair to SKY and LIVI, a jewelry company that has used his hair to develop a blue diamond pendant.
Estimated to be at least $16,000, the gem, surrounded by an 18K white gold pendent, is currently up for auction to fund cancer awareness.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the money will go to the organization, Look Good Feel Better, which hopes to better the self-esteem of women struggling with cancer.
Kwanten said, “My friend Anjanette started SKY and LIVI to help women cope with hair loss due to chemo. I know first hand how traumatic this moment is, as my mother is a breast cancer survivor and lost her hair during treatment.” The actor continues, “I think it is empowering for women to make a diamond from their hair, so I’m donating my hair to create a diamond in honor of my mother—to honor her strength and to celebrate her life.”
The auction is up on Charity Buzz for bids. The last day to bid is on Tuesday, May 7.
The Wrap reports True Blood fans will be able to sink their fangs into HBO’s popular vampire series once again when the show returns for its sixth season June 16 at 9PM.
In addition to Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Alexander Skarsgard, the 10-episode season will also feature British EastEnders actor Rob Kazinsky who has signed on as a series regular as well.
Kazinsky will be playing the charismatic faerie, Ben, who joins Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and Sookie (Paquin) as they delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders.
Also set to appear as a regular in the upcoming season is acting veteran Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) as Macklyn, a mysterious character with deep ties to Sookie and Jason.
